13 Days Til Pitchers and Catchers

Soon this baseball lull will end, and the players will report to Florida and Arizona for Spring Training. In NYC, at least, it will probably be warm enough to hold Spring Training here, but New York can't compete with Port Saint Lucie for the amenities it provides the players. Actually, the only advantage the Mets home-away-from-home in Florida offers is the facility itself and the golfing weather during the downtime.

This will be an especially interesting season for three reasons: amphetamines testing, even more parity than last year, and the World Baseball Classic.
